The Louisburg Barracudas capped off a perfect regular season Saturday at the Louisburg Aquatic Center.

Louisburg took care of business as it defeated Harrisonville (Mo.) 423.5-113.5 to finish the South Suburban League regular season with a 4-0 mark. To go even further, the Barracudas haven’t lost a regular season meet since 2009.

The Barracudas won in dominating fashion thanks to several swimmers coming out on top as 10 Barracudas won at least four events.

Sabra Brueggen (8-and-under girls), Jay McCaskill (8-U boys), Weston Guetterman (11-12 boys), Trae Johnsen (13-14 boys) and Alex Prettyman (15-and-over boys) won five events to help the Barracudas come out on top.

Another five swimmers also had a strong day. Emma Prettyman (9-10 girls), Sydney Keaton (11-12 girls), Madelyn Prettyman (13-14 girls), Meagan Walker (15-and-over girls) and Brayton Brueggen (9-10 boys) each finished with four victories.

Alex Prettyman helped the 15-and-over boys as he won the 50 butterfly (32.19 seconds), 50 breaststroke (38.56) and 200 individual medley (2 minutes and 51 seconds). Alex also joined Christopher Dallimore, Ben Brummel and Christopher Tyson to win the 200 medley relay (2:21), while Alex, Dallimore, Brummel and Sam Bradley won the 200 freestyle relay (2:08).

Johnsen also had a big day for the Barracudas as he eased to victory in the 50 butterfly (34.47), 50 backstroke (33.22) and 200 individual medley (2:47). He also joined Davy Brock, Gus Faulkner and Gareth Baus to capture titles in the 200 medley (2:44) and 200 freestyle relays (2:21).

Guetterman swam strong for the 11-12 boys as he captured wins in the 50 freestyle (36.53), 50 backstroke (44.70) and 200 individual medley (3:38). Drake Varns, Remington Rice and Cole Brown joined Guetterman to also win the 200 medley relay (3:05) and 200 freestyle relay (2:40).

Jay McCaskill and the 8-and-under boys started strong in the relays as he, T.J. Munter, Josiah McCaskill and Ethan Sharp won the 100 medley (2:00) and ended the meet as Colton, Josiah, Munter and Jay came up victorious in the 100 freestyle relay (1:38)

Jay also won the 25 freestyle (21.40), 25 breaststroke (30.73) and 25 backstroke (28.32) to round out his five first place ribbons.

On the girls’ side, Brueggen swam away with her individual events in the 25 freestyle (18.35), 25 butterfly (20.75) and 100 individual medley (1:40). She later helped Megan Quinn, Ashley Branine and Claire Baker to win the 100 medley relay (1:41). Brueggen, Branine, Quinn and Hannah Farrington also won the 100 freestyle relay (1:36).

The Barracudas will wrap up their season Saturday when they travel to Butler (Mo.) for the South Suburban Swim League finals as they try for their seventh straight league crown. The meet is set to begin at 8 a.m.
