It has been quite the ride for the Louisburg Middle School seventh-grade girls basketball team so far this season – in fact – it couldn’t have been a smoother start.

The Lady Cats have cruised more than halfway through their season as they have an 11-0 record following Tuesday’s road contest in Ottawa and haven’t been tested much to this point.

“This team works together to accomplish each win,” Louisburg coach Suzanne Reedy said. “They truly personify what it means to be a team. Their defense is dynamite, they are constantly moving and talking to make sure the court is covered.”

It is that teamwork that has made them basically unstoppable in league action and that continued Tuesday in Ottawa. The Lady Cats were never tested against Ottawa in a 46-24 victory as they had four players score in double figures.

Foote and O’Hara had a big night for the Lady Cats as they each finished with 14 points and Moore added 10 points in the win.

The Lady Cats have been getting contributions all over the floor as Melton and Foote have been averaging close to 10 points a contest to lead Louisburg and Brooklyn Diederich is next with six points a contest.
