Week 6 Athlete of the Week: Mason Koechner

MASON KOECHNER, SENIOR, WRESTLING

LHS senior wrestler Mason Koechner finished his week with six wins, including a championship at the Baldwin Invitational on Saturday. Koechner, the state’s No. 2 ranked heavyweight in Class 4A, defeated Santa Fe Trail’s Jake Hastings, who is ranked No. 5, to win the 285-pound crown. Koechner also had three pins on Saturday and another pin during the Wildcats’ dual Thursday against Ottawa.

The athlete of the week winner will be announced every Wednesday morning throughout the winter season. The winner is selected by Louisburg Sports Zone with the help of nominations from coaches.
