Week 1 Athlete of the Week: Carson Buffington

Here is your Louisburg High School Athlete of the Week for week one of the winter season. The award is sponsored by Elliott Insurance.
CARSON BUFFINGTON, SOPHOMORE, BASKETBALL
Louisburg sophomore Carson Buffington had a record-breaking week for the Lady Cat basketball team. On Dec. 2, Buffington broke her own school rebounding record with a total of 18 rebounds against Pittsburg. Four days later, Buffington shattered that mark. Against Burlington on Dec. 5, she pulled down a new career-high 22 boards. Through the first four games of the season, Buffington has averaged close to 14 rebounds a contest.
The athlete of the week winner will be announced every Wednesday morning throughout the winter season. The winner is selected by Louisburg Sports Zone with the help of nominations from coaches.
