Here is the Louisburg Sports Zone Athlete of the Week for week eight of the winter sports season, sponsored by Prime Accounting Solutions.

CARSON BUFFINGTON, GIRLS BASKETBALL, SENIOR

Louisburg senior Carson Buffington played a big role for the Lady Cats in a week that nearly saw them get two wins. Buffington finished with 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds in Louisburg’s win over Ottawa last Friday and also pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds in its two-point loss to Paola. She also tallied six steals between the two games.

The athlete of the week award is announced every Wednesday morning during the winter season and the winner is selected by Louisburg Sports Zone with the help of nominations from coaches.
