Here is the Louisburg Sports Zone Athlete of the Week for week one of the winter sports season, sponsored by Louisburg Family Dental.
RYAN OWENS, JUNIOR, WRESTLING
Louisburg junior Ryan Owens helped the Wildcat wrestling team to a first-place finish at the Fort Scott Dual Tournament last Friday. Owens, who wrestles at 120 pounds, finished the day with a 5-0 record, including three pins and a major decision. On the night, the Wildcats finished 4-1 as a team.
The athlete of the week award is announced every Wednesday morning during the winter season and the winner is selected by Louisburg Sports Zone with the help of nominations from coaches.
