LOLA EDWARDS, FRESHMAN, CROSS COUNTRY

In her first major varsity race, Louisburg freshman Lola Edwards put together an impressive showing against some of the top runners in Class 4A. Edwards medaled sixth at the Wamego Invitational last Saturday with a time of 21 minutes and 5 seconds. She finished in the top 10 in the 66-runner field and the Lady Cats finished fifth in the team standings.

WESTON GUETTERMAN, SENIOR, FOOTBALL

Louisburg senior Weston Guetterman had an impressive season debut last Friday as he helped lead the Wildcats to a 22-14 win over Spring Hill. The Wildcat quarterback rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries and accounted for all three touchdowns. He also completed a 2-point conversion pass and threw for 28 yards in the win.

REILLY RATLIFF-BECHER, SENIOR, POWERLIFTING

Louisburg senior Reilly Ratliff-Becher captured her second straight state title at the Class 4A State Powerlifting Championships on Saturday at Piper High School. Ratliff-Becher competed in the 180-pound class and dominated the division. She took first in bench press, clean and squat, which led to a first place overall finish.

MADILYN MELTON, JUNIOR, GIRLS BASKETBALL

Louisburg junior Madilyn Melton had a big week for the Lady Cat basketball team as she led the team in scoring against Metro Academy and Paola last week. Melton had a team-high 16 points and six rebounds in a loss to Paola and earlier in the week scored 18 points in a win over Metro Academy. She currently leads the team in scoring as she averages 13 points a game.

BRANDON DOLES, SOPHOMORE, WRESTLING

Louisburg sophomore Brandon Doles had a big day for the Louisburg wrestling team as he finished as a Class 4A regional runner-up during tournament action Saturday in Louisburg. Doles also qualified for the state tournament for the second consecutive season and has a 31-9 record on the year. He is also currently ranked No. 6 in the state at 160 pounds.

BRADEN BRANINE, FRESHMAN, BOYS SWIMMING

Freshman Braden Branine had a big day for the Osawatomie-Paola-Louisburg boys swim team last Thursday at the ILC league meet. Branine won the ILC league title in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14. Branine also joined Remington Rice, Bridger Baus and Cole Brown to win the 200 medley relay title as well. The swim team also captured its fourth straight league title in the process.

Louisburg junior Brooklyn Diederich had a good week for the Lady Cat basketball team as she averaged close to 10 points a game in their three contests this week. Diederich scored a team-high 10 points and had six deflections in Louisburg’s victory over Ottawa on Friday and helped snap a five-game losing streak.

CADE HOLTZEN, JUNIOR, WRESTLING

Louisburg junior Cade Holtzen had a successful week for the Wildcat wrestling team as he made the finals of the Baldwin Invitational. Holtzen, who wrestles at 126 pounds, finished the week with a 4-1 with all four victories coming by pin and finished second. His lone loss was an overtime defeat to the No. 5 ranked wrestler in the state. Holtzen currently has a 25-2 record on the season.

JULIAN MARGRAVE, SOPHOMORE, BOYS BASKETBALL

Louisburg’s Julian Margrave came up big for the Wildcat boys basketball team last week during the Baldwin Invitational. The 6-9 sophomore averaged 20 points in three games during the Wildcats’ third-place finish at Baldwin, including a 26-point performance against No. 1 Bishop Seabury in an overtime win in the third-place game. Margrave was also named to the all-tournament team.

KAVEN BARTLETT, FRESHMAN, WRESTLING

Louisburg freshman Kaven Bartlett was one of four champions for the Louisburg wrestling team Saturday at the Topeka Invitational. Bartlett, who wrestles at 113 pounds, took first place with a 3-0 record and recorded a pin in the process. He won the championship match by a 4-1 decision. Bartlett is currently 17-3 on the season.
