BEN GUETTERMAN, JUNIOR, BOYS BASKETBALL

Louisburg junior Ben Guetterman helped the Wildcat basketball team to a big comeback win over Turner last week. Guetterman finished with a team-high 21 points and 16 rebounds from the guard spot in Louisburg’s 64-52 road victory. The Wildcats are currently 3-3 on the season and Guetterman is averaging 13 points a game.

ALYSE MOORE, JUNIOR, GIRLS BASKETBALL

Louisburg junior Alyse Moore had a big week for the Lady Cat basketball team as she recorded 30 points over the two games, including a 22-point performance in a win over Burlington. She also had 17 rebounds, eight steals and four assists in the two contests. Moore has helped the Lady Cats to a 3-0 start on the season and are currently ranked No. 10 in Class 4A.

RYAN OWENS, JUNIOR, WRESTLING

Louisburg junior Ryan Owens helped the Wildcat wrestling team to a first-place finish at the Fort Scott Dual Tournament last Friday. Owens, who wrestles at 120 pounds, finished the day with a 5-0 record, including three pins and a major decision. On the night, the Wildcats finished 4-1 as a team.

CADE GASSMAN, FRESHMAN, BOYS SOCCER

Louisburg freshman Cade Gassman helped lead the Louisburg boys soccer team to a 16-win season that included a Frontier League and regional title. Gassman has a team-high 18 goals on the year to go along with five assists. He also added a goal and an assist in the Wildcats’ regional playoff run last week.

CARLEIGH PRITCHARD, JUNIOR, VOLLEYBALL

Junior Carleigh Pritchard helped the Louisburg volleyball team to a sub-state championship this past Saturday as she recorded five kills and two blocks in a win over Bishop Miege. She also added four kills and a block in the win over Atchison in the championship game. Pritchard had a team-high eight kills against Piper in the team’s regular season finale earlier in the week. She currently leads the team with 218 kills on the season.

Louisburg senior Anthony Davis found himself among the best runners in the Frontier League last Thursday during the league meet in Tonganoxie. Davis finished 15th overall with a personal best time of 17 minutes and 53 seconds. His finish also earned him honorable mention all-league honors.

CHARLIE KOONTZ, SENIOR, FOOTBALL

Louisburg senior Charlie Koontz was all over the field for the Wildcat football team last Friday in Atchison. Koontz finished the night with 72 yards rushing on 12 carries. Defensively, the senior linebacker also led the team with 10 tackles and had a forced fumble and fumble recovery in the 41-12 victory over the Redmen. The Wildcats have now won four straight games.

Louisburg senior kicker Drake Varns had a night to remember Friday as he helped the Wildcats to a 17-7 win over Eudora. Varns kicked a 41-yard field goal and also two extra points in the win. He also recovered his own onside kick that led to the Wildcats’ second touchdown on the night. The Wildcats have now won three straight games.

RINNY MCMULLEN, SOPHOMORE, VOLLEYBALL

Louisburg sophomore Rinny McMullen helped the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 7-1 record last week, that included a second place finish in their home tournament. McMullen had 108 assists over the eight matches, along with 40 digs, 23 aces and 13 kills. She also served 16 straight points in the win over Heritage Christian during tournament play Saturday.

Louisburg junior running back Ben Wiedenmann had a big game on the offensive side of the ball last week as he led the Wildcats to a 38-12 win over Baldwin. Wiedenmann carried the ball 26 times for 231 yards and three touchdowns as all his touchdowns came in the first half.
